Calvin Dean is a British actor based in London. Calvin was born in Cornwall and spent his childhood being brought up in a small fishing village called Polruan.
He spent 5 years with the National Youth Theatre (NYT) performing in a wide variety of productions, and was directed under the late Edward Wilson. He appeared in 'The Threepenny Opera', 'Murder in the Cathedral', 'Hanging Around' (co-produced with Kneehigh Theatre at the National Theatre) and in the BBC co-production 'Watch Over Me II'.

Calvin started his professional training in 2004 at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. During his 3 year course he performed in 'The American Clock', 'The Threepenny Opera' and 'Happy Families'. As well as training in stage acting, Calvin underwent training in TV, Film and Radio.



Since graduating from Mountview in September 2007, Calvin has worked on the films 'The Duchess' and 'Suicide Kids' and filmed for a new ITV thriller called 'Demons', starring Philip Glenister. In May 2008 Calvin finished shooting for a British comedy feature entitled 'Mixed Up'.

Calvin recently filmed 2 episodes of 'Casualty'. His character 'Michael Treaver' appeared in episodes 1 & 2 of series 23.
Calvin plays the lead role (Darren Mullet) in 'Tormented' to be released in cinemas nationwide in June 2009.
